Mashed Potatoes Balls (6mth+)

Potatoes can be a nutritious and versatile food option for babies. They are a good source of carbohydrates, fiber, vitamin C, and potassium. Here's a simple recipe for mashed potato balls that can be suitable for babies:

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium-sized potatoes
  • 2 tablespoon cornstarch
  • Milk (optional, if texture is too dry)

Instructions:

Peel the potatoes and cut them into small cubes.Rinse the potatoes in cold water to remove excess starch.Steam the potato cubes in a steamer for 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.

Mash the hot potatoes using a fork or potato masher until smooth and creamy. If the mashed potatoes seem too dry, you can add a small amount of breast milk or formula to achieve a softer consistency.

Take small portions of the mashed potatoes and shape them into bite-sized balls using your hands.Place the mashed potato balls on a plate or baking sheet and refrigerate them for at least 30 minutes to allow them to firm up.

Once chilled, lightly pan fried or boil the potatoes balls to cook. Serve the mashed potatoes balls plain or with some saltless tomatoes sauce.
